GOODBYE TO OUR DEAR SISTER

For the happy and sad times shared throughout the years,
for the loyalty and love, the laughter and the tears.
For the special things only you could do,
for all these things… we're so grateful for you!

You always told us we were better than you,
prettier, smarter, and more talented too.
You edified and nourished us with your words of love.
They, like you, were gifts from above.

YOUR happiest moment in life was when you first saw your son,
whom you adored and cherished more than anyone.
He eased the pain of your last days on Earth,
laughing and smiling with him, just like on the day of his birth.

We regret that we didn't spend more time with you during your days,
to learn all of the secrets of your kind and unselfish ways.
You never asked much from us, other than our love.
We pray that you saw us looking up to you,
our older sister, who overshadowed us from above.

Though separated by the walls of time and space,
we share your love because of God’s grace.
Calling you our sister we’re so proud to do,
And yet you were even more, you were our best friend too!

We recall that your life’s journey was not the easiest of ways,
yet we celebrate the joy and love it has brought us, for each of our days.
We'll forever treasure our special memories of you,
finding peace in knowing that you’re free from pain, in all that you might do.

Your suffering has ended and although your spirit has flown away from here,
if God’s saints are like the angels, then we know that soon, you may be very near.
Through your sweet, unselfish ways you taught us so much,
we know that one day we'll be together, close enough to touch.
